The new version SurveyPie is now lauched. We've added these interesting new features to it, have you noticed already?
Ø Collectors
Ø View and filter responses by different collectors
Ø Custom survey folders
Ø Custom URL referrer
Ø Quick help on all pages
Have you tried to seperate responses from different groups of people? Before v5.0, we would recommend you to add logic rules to your survey so repondents can select their group. But respondents may not know about his/her own category or group or mistakenly chose the wrong group.
To make sure you get accurate responses, we launched a new feature called Collectors. It helps you to distribute a survey to different groups of respondents before they even realized. You can later view responses of different groups of respondents together or seperately.
We suggest you to use Collector under these circumstances:
1. Need to send a survey via multiple channels like Facebook, Twitter, Blog etc.
2. Need to send a survey to multiple classes, departments or branch offices.
3. Need to send a survey to different game servers.
4. Need to send a survey to different Ads platforms.
5. And other circumstances you can imagine.
To get information about how to set up Collectors, please click here.
As Collector launched, one survey can have multiple URLs. To find your survey URL, please go to My Surveys - Collector - Survey URL page.
N.B. Please make sure you send respondents the right collector URL. Otherwise, your reports may be invalid.
In v5.0, you can still go to Report page to view all responses. You have two other ways to view responses by collectors.
1. Click View Results after each collector, system will create a filter criterion to show all responses collected by this collector.
2. On Analyze page, use Filter to show responses collected by this collector.
In v5.0, we replaced survey tags by Custom Folders. We suggest you to put surveys into different folders so they can be found easier and faster.
Besides custom folders, there are two default folders: Star and Active.
- Star folder: All important surveys you starred are in this folder.
- Active folder: If a survey collected new responses in the past 24 hours, it will appear in Active folder.
Please note: If you had added tags to surveys before v5.0, these tags would turn into folders. If a survey had multiple tags, our system will automatically pick the tag used most.
Collectors can help you to seperate respondents from different channels, while there's another way to help you to locate single respondents. That is Custom referrer.
Custom referrer is decided by yourself and is added at the end of survey links in form of "?ext=". When respondent enters and finishes a survey with referrer, this referrer will be recorded and display in raw data sheet.
Example:
Here's a survey whose URL is www.surveypie.com/survey123456. You're going to send this survey to a group of respondents who had been assigned different parameters. In this case, each of them should get an unique URL like this:
Respondent | Referrer | URL |
Dave | D001 | www.surveypie.com/survey123456?ext=D001 |
Sophie | S002 | www.surveypie.com/survey123456?ext=S002 |
Josh | J003 | www.surveypie.com/survey123456?ext=J003 |
Notice:
Due to differences of your respondents' browsers, please ONLY use English letters and numbers as referrer parameters.
In order to be compatible with different browsers, we used Flash image uploader before v5.0. Unfortunately, this Flash uploader didn't work very well.
In v5.0, we replaced it with a new tool with faster speed and better quality. Besides, this new tool gives detailed error messages telling uploading failed so you can correct it immediately.
